Takeaways apparently are safe because the cooking kills the virus (so long as handled correctly after cooking), no such thing when it comes to ice cream
I wouldn’t buy one either. The one that came round my road yesterday - he was wearing the same gloves to drive in! I’ve never thought they are the most hygienic anyway, unless you buy wrapped ice-lollies but agree, not on my agenda at all.

Glad you enjoyed the sweet treat thought Op - I have bought a stack at the Supermarket and enjoy an ice-cream mid-afternoon ... this has probably added to the weight gain!

I’d buy one if they were around here!

Our local guy has been doing deliveries. Order on facebook pay by pay pal and he delivers at a set time. Comes in a tub complete with cones, sprinkles, flakes and of course raspberry Juice to drizzle on top.

I bought two from ice cream van down our street yesterday. He had a screen up, handled the cone and the money, no gloves. DS ate just the ice cream and the other one was for the dogs but won't be buying more anytime soon.

The thing is, washed bare hands are far cleaner than gloves.
And he can handle the cone and the money, my DH runs a sandwich shop.
He washed his hands after his previous customer, he then serves your ice cream with clean hands, he takes your money, gives you your change, then washes his hands again before his next customer.
That is far more appropriate behaviour than wearing gloves.
