Average cost of food for 2 weeks at Disney

I did a calculus for 2 of us 2QS meals a day obviously no refills ble mug so said 6 snacks between us a day I got £54 a day each that’s was me desert no alcohol no frills at all
It was eye watering to be honest we never eat on site in less doing a very very long day and then it’s one meal between us we take water snacks with us

Even eating hot dogs and fries on paper plates everyday still adds up. If you want proper plates and cutlery then you are looking at very expensive meals

I just used that for my family of 5 put in 3 characters meals. 2 snacks each a day plus did add 5 desserts and all were quick service meals came to £4700 🙀 I can not see us eating that much food think I would look at menus pick some lighter meals and go from there.

There’s 3 of us and daughter is considered an adult. My husband won’t go unless he’s getting nice sit down meals unfortunately.
Sigh. Might have a sob. Bloody virus.

Do you have to only eat at Disney? We had 5 nights onsite in October, with no dining plan. We bought 2 reusable mugs at our resort, ate at Disney Springs, plus had several quick service meals in the parks, plus loads of snacks, we also went to Walmart to stock up the fridge with drinks, and ate offsite at Dennys, McDonalds and Rock & Brews. We’re a family of 4, kids are both teens and we spent roughly $700 over those 5 days. I appreciate this only works if you’re willing to go offsite.

Show him the real cost of a sit down meal rather the the DP. He may change his mind and be happy to eat off site.

I should have said off site also isn’t an option.
No car and child has food allergies that Disney accommodates, off site is tricky and very very limited.

Hi, the cost can be eye watering but it depends on your preferences. there are a few food trip reports for $100 per day and yes there are some that can blow your budget on just an appetizer.
we have lost our free dining this year due to covid and our planning our meals and potential restaurants carefully but due to the difference in costs our dining will be restricted but still there are many great places to eat that don't break the bank.
sci fi cost approx. $20 plus allow an extra $5 for a drink or $7 for a milkshake.
sleepy hollow is great for waffles and fruit and big enough to share
rainforest and yak and yeti can be used for the laundry card with no waiting time and $25 knocked off the bill. caseys for corndogs in magic kingdom and wolfgang puck for meatloaf and blaze pizza in springs is only $10 sit down, in the parks there are also options resturantsourus burgers and sundaes and family pizza dining meal.
we are planning an allowance of $50 each per day and any left will roll over so if we have fruit or muffin for breakfast $6, share a light lunch or have several snacks and a drink $14 then $30 for our evening meal. I know for us that some days we are so full we just have a snack for breakfast and then our evening meal so potentially we can roll over some funds when we visit blaze for some more moderate meals throughout our stay and may even fit in ohana's and sanna.
we are lucky we are DVC members so get 10 - 15% discount on sit down venues which we put towards the cost of our tips along with our gift cards and rarely have alcohol with our meals but do have a separate budget for trading sams if they are open of course

We loved the dining plan but there are only 2 of us and when I have done the calculations we are better off paying OOP. rather than paying dining plan( if we could)We never did use all our QS or snacks. At least if you are not on the dining plan it does make you feel that you could eat off site without the feeling that you are wasting your DDP. Having said that if they did re introduce the DDP the fact that you then have it paid before you go would be very tempting.
