Changes at the parks when they open
What changes do u think will happen when they do open again?
I think they will have phased opening of areas, rides and shows. No shows where everyone is close ie Lion King. Things like the stretch room in Haunted Mansion may be bypassed or u need a seperate que if u want to experience it. I think they'll have loads of restrictions until the virus is gone and maybe X time after it? |

I agree. Can't see there being parades or fireworks either. We've booked to go in August but thinking of postponing it to next year. Even if the parks are open in August there's going to be a lot of restrictions in place.

I saw an article a couple of weeks ago suggesting some of these things and included more virtual Qs, restriction in numbers in restaurants and modified opening hours.

The only issue with postponing, postponing until when? Standard answer for a vaccine is 18-24 months so do you postpone to 2022 & then assume that no restrictions will be in place ? I think DFB run a vlog discussing it but how many are workable? Restrictions means more CM's to police them but if you factor in reducing the numbers then no financial gain IYKWIM If they are offering less, do they then have to reduce entrance costs etc When you take into account the restrictions put in place post 9/11, do you know the only people (generalisation) to complain about heightened security measures... US!
At the minute, who knows? We are still taking it that we are going in Sept- it's something to look forward to during this doom & gloom SD

Disney would be the hardest place to maintain even 1m rule in queue lines that reach over 3 hrs on some rides every day.

If they are not going to have rides or shows because the audience will be sat close together, how are you going to fly there?

I am hoping that towards the end of the year that although the coronavirus will be still floating around, it will be more of a general thing that if you are unlucky you catch it. Similar to how there were previously viruses going around that you could catch on holiday.

I was thinking of it this morning watching slinky dog. I would be worried being on the back row as everyone’s nose n mouth droplets cascade towards me. Let’s hope the virus dies out if that’s possible.

All round good bloke

I came across a vlog this morning discussing this very subject. The favoured approach (in the contributors eyes) is def for a staged opening with possibly virus checks at th2 gates. Various ideas were floated around including the staged opening of parks or perhaps staged opening within a park.
As you may know the education programme for this year has been out on hold which means (for example) there may not be any UK employees working in the UK area of epcot. These are challenging times indeed. I feel sorry for those who were due to go this year and have had their plans turned upside down.
