Mobile Drive Anaheim to San Diego

Heya

Tomorrow we're driving from Anaheim to San Diego and we want to stop somewhere on the way. Thinking maybe a beach, just for an hour or so, but ideally somewhere with easy parking (will have just picked up the car) and a nice coffee shop or cafe. Any suggestions?

Dana Point is probably your best bet. First sea views/beach you get to without diverting off your drive. Its really not a long journey to do it non stop but thats an easy place to stop.

San Clemente is nice; probably half way point between LA & SD?.

We stopped at Oceanside and saw Kelly McGillis beach house from the film Top Gun.

More importantly, if you have to collect a Gosandiego5 card, You can do it here with the minimum of fuss and meet some very nice ladies in the Tourist information shack.
