A great thread as we have our first trip coming up this summer. We have booked Dylan’s ultimate tour and planned the Alcatraz night tour and Disney museum already but great to see more ideas and tips!

We did the electric tuk tuk tour with Dylan’s. Great way of seeing everything quickly.
Loved Sausalito and will definitely return

If you're doing Boudins then you might as well walk up the hill to Ghirardelli for dessert, then along to Buena Vista cafe for an irish coffee, (if you haven't already gone there for breakfast), then a rollercoaster ride back on the cable car - they really are fun to hang on to, amazing in these H & S days . Or bus over to the disney museum then a long slow walk back thro Presidio to the wharf.

My favourite things were as follows:

1. Dylan's tour on the first day to get a feel of the city.

2. Alkatraz, we did the night tour.

3. Baseball match for the atmosphere.

4. Walking to the golden gate bridge and visiting the farmers market.

5. Can't decide between cable cars and Segway around the golden gate park. We came across some real characters in the golden gate park. Left over hippies was how our tour guide described them.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Muir Woods just over the bridge , a nice hike throught the trees in the park to the ridge giving views of the ocean.

Several have mentioned the Dylan’s ultimate tour (including me). That includes a tour of Muir Woods after dumping the bikes in Sausalito.
In effects, you get two great trips for the price of one.

I agree that Muir Woods is really good.
