Here in the US, the brand name for an anti-diarrheal is Imodium, they also make an Imodium Jr for kids.
Grocery delivery could bring you supplies to help you, and Imodium is sold in grocery stores. Get a can of peaches, the peach syrup can keep nausea away. Maybe some saltine crackers as well. I'm so sorry this is happening to you all, prayers for some quick healing! Dawn |

The Disney hotel shops sell pedialyte which is the same as diaoralite that we can buy at home. I used this when I was ill at AKL in October and found it helped a lot. I just mixed it into a bottle of Dasani water and sipped it slowly throughout the day. Hydration is so important, so anything that helps is good. It has a pleasant flavour as well so good for kids.

You can buy imodium and pepto bismol in the resort gift shops. I got sick at wilderness lodge last year and got through it with pepto bismol. It'll probably take a few days for everyone to feel well again unfortunately. I lost 4 days of that trip. I hope you all feel better soon and make the best of the time you have left. I found Disney were super helpful with reorganizing the things we had booked but our second week was pretty hectic!

They’re both sound asleep which is probably for the best. It’s 11am here right now.

Hi if your worried go straight to one of the medical centres, there’s one at the top end of Disney springs at the crossroads. Take all your insurance documents, don’t waist time , get a taxi or Uber. Better to get sorted as quick as possible and enjoy the remainder of your holiday. This why we pay insurance.

Whereabouts are you staying? I needed to go to CVS when we were at the beach club and there was one pretty nearby. We drove but an Uber or Lyft wouldn’t be very much.
Hope things pick up for you all

it sounds like it might be norovirus judging by your experience. Staying in your room and drinking what you can should sort it. If anyone gets really unwell then i'd ring reception and they'll get help for you. Taking imodium is not a good idea with a bug. You will be contagious 48 hours from the last episode so stay in your room until then so you don't pass it on to others. Hope you all feel better soon

I’d definitely contact the insurance company and they’ll organise something.
Also worth knowing is you tend to be able to claim back incapacitated type payment. For example; my son got chicken pox was unable to leave room for 5 days we claimed back an allowance for him and myself including the days for theme park tickets unused. Obviously a doctor will provide evidence you’ve been confined to the room. Wishing you all well! Becky x

My DD came down very ill with a sickness bug the other year. I don't drive either. I got in contact with our insurance company who authorised our visit and we were told to go to Centracare. We were staying onsite and our hotel called them and they sent transport to pick us up. I had to have a $300 hold on my credit card (I was never charged). She was seen by a Doctor and given a prescription for some medicine which we also picked up at Centracare which was $20. Centracare then arranged for a transport to take us back to our Disney resort. I also had to be given a Fit to Fly Certificate.
I hope they have all picked up and are feeling better 🤞. |
