As the title says I’m looking for tips, help, diving intervention!
I’m studying for exams for my work this is my 3rd attempt at passing this one, and I’m really struggling
The subject is very dry, or something I use day to day but need the pass to keep my job, in total I’m about 300 hours of study in total but nothing seems to be going in
I’ve tried reading, taking notes, just reading so any hints tips I’d love to hear them

Are you at the revision stage? Or in the initial learning stage?

Can you make a recording of the main things you need to learn, and then listen to it through headphones round the house?

Or write a quiz, using the major facts?

Postcards with main facts stuck round the house?

Are there any books or revision guides for the subject?

I'm in the same boat! Also studying for an exam in a couple of months from now (work related) and I'm finding it really hard to study.

Do you have someone that could test you on things? My OH really struggled with revision for his uni exams- he has no confidence with exams and a really bad memory which doesn't help. He made very concise notes on the main points on a few sheets of A4 and then I'd use those to quiz him over and over again and ask him to recite bits aloud until it stuck...he'd forgotten everything by the day after the exam but got really great marks!

I write flash cards for my exams - all the key facts and figures in one colour card, longer explanations of things on another, then I go through them, do a past exam paper - write notes or flash cards (or review flash cards) for things I got wrong, go back through flash cards, then do another paper - rinse and repeat the entire weekend & study day before the exam!

I was lucky in that my exams were multiple choice - this method doesn’t work as well for written exams!

I can’t read pages and pages and prefer crammer type books, audio learning or ploughing through Q&A online if they’re an option?

Would writing colourful mind maps help?

It depends on what you are having to learn but actually doing something really helps things to go in.

I break things down into topics. Write a spider diagram/ mind map (colourful with little drawings if that helps you) on the key points using my notes. Then rewrite from memory. Finally I’d use the information to answer a exam type question.
