We chose not to stay in the FQ in NOLA as it was more than I wanted to pay, but after extensive research (as I wanted to be an easy walk to the FQ) we are in the CBD (Central Business District) at

old77hotel/

Which looks lovely but Ive not stayed yet.

For flights Id just book whoever is cheapest. Think BA is the only option direct to NOLA from UK. We are flying indirect (cheaper) on a combo of VA and Delta. Id possibly price up independent flights between NOLA and LA - if your main target is Anaheim youd be better flying into SNA than LAX (closer). I dont know if South West fly that route but weve found their flights decent.

Weve stayed at lots of places near DL, always within walking distance and there are many many options. Weve also stayed onsite but the prices are high and I am happy offsite which also gives access to cheaper dining. Prices in Anaheim I find OK. Knotts is close to Disney, UBER would be very cheap if you dont have a car. I remember it only taking ten mins or so.

I cant help with the Rainbow room as weve not done that.

we took a road trip to NOLA from Orlando in Sept. Driving took about 8-9 hours or so from Orlando. Since we had a car we stayed out a lovely hotel near the airport, about 8 miles from the centre. we parked in a parking garage attached to the Sheraton hotel near the river. we did the river cruise on the Natchez which was great, also the hop on off bus tour which was a good way to see everything. the french quarter is handy just for wandering around. Louis armstrong park is walkable too. we stayed for 2 nights this was probably enough time to see all the main sights IMO.
we stopped at Pensacola beach on the panhandle on the way back as hasnt been before since we were passing!

I have been to all before but kids havent so we are doing this next summer :

- Out from Manchester.
-4 nights Garland. Family suite booked. Quite pricey but hotel recommended on here.
-3 nights Grand Californian 1 bed suite (using my DVC).
-4 Nights Vegas. Driving to Vegas probably. Going as a base for a long day trip to Grand Canyon South Rim as the kids need to see that. Not a great fan of Vegas been twice (was better first time I went 25 years ago). Will probably stay Vdara as they have suites with washing machines and kitchens (Mrs YT spoiled by DVC 1 beds, costs me more elsewhere now).
- 4 nights New Orleans, flying there from Vegas, flights are cheap. Booked a suite at Jung.
- Drive to Panama Beach, 3 nights condo near the beach.
- Drive to WDW for 4 final nights. Again using DVC points will book Poly, Boulder Ridge or Riviera.
- Fly back to Manchester from Orlando.

In and out school holidays so flights were not cheap but picked up indirect with Air Canada for about 750 each including bags and seats.
Havent booked internal Vegas to New Orleans flight yet, likely about 100 each.

What does everyone think would be the best/cheapest option of booking the flight, I'm thinking NOLA/Vegas/La

If you like a drink, book the Cocktail History tour in NOLA (it was number one thing to do on trip advisor when we went there), you can find it online.
You do a 4 hour walking tour learning all about the city and visiting 4 cocktail bars where the cocktails were invented, the cocktails at each were included. It was really interesting and good fun.
Eat before you go though!

Its the Doctor Gumbo one
