Thanks guys. Looks like it's the LG that's the problem although bit annoyed that it comes with the app but doesn't work but might look at the fire tv stick and see if that solves it.

I watch Amazon Prime, Now TV and Netflix on my LG smart TV with no problems.

Broadband is BT Infinity (which I actually think is crap)

we watch Amazon through our LG TV and have BT Broadband and don't experience any problems (although we don't watch very often).

We used to have issues with our PS3 playing prime tv (greys anatomy xmas 2014 comes to mind) it would load a bit then stop, then load a bit and stop, would take 10-12 stops to play a 45 min episode, when Netflix worked just fine.
We found that resetting our router (well BT home hub thing) helped most of the time, but also my brother found the ideal settings for it to play on the PS3.
Imo I find Netflix much better, but there are a few things that are on prime to only (greys walking dead) which I have to grin and bear it with.
The iPad app also has an issue with cutting out sometimes(but I think that's most poor wifi signal in my room).

We have an lg smart tv but also have the fire stick as we bought it loaded with Kodi and it works fine on ours but we haven't tried the app. I'll give it a go in a minute and see what it says
