Castle to be covered in giant tarp from Jan 2021!
DLP report on twitter is providing updates and the castle is getting a huge refurbishment, removing turrets etc so will be covered from jan 2021 until the 30th celebrations!

Reminds me of when we took our friends in 2011 - the castle was under a tarp then. Peter told their kids ‘Aurora had the painters in’ and the dad fell about laughing.

I believe that DLP's 30th anniversary is April 2022, so the castle will be covered for at least 16 months.
Although the works are necessary, not seeing the castle and not seeing the nightly fireworks display will be a loss of that Disney magic.

It has certainly put me off going when we can travel. I was hoping to use some eurotunnel credit but no castle and no fireworks and the current prices I’m afraid it would be a no from me.

This is so disappointing! I booked a stay under the zen guarantee haven’t booked transport yet for next Xmas ,I’m not sure We go will now .I don’t think I’d like it if the castle was covered .that’s if we could go at all in the current climate

Well OH booked us a surprise couple of nights in DLP for October next year. We have no transport at the money but the castle doesn’t put me off.
After everything we’ve been through, just a couple of nights in DLP away from the real world is perfect.
