We love vegas so much you tube doesn't do it justice there is so much more to the place than gambling, we love not having a plan and just wandering around getting lost in the different hotels, each hotel has its own unique feature we just loved looking them , make sure you visit freemont street up near the stratosphere ( its an experience) take in a show cirque du soleil are some of our favourites, def spend some time around a pool as the heat is just super hot. The outlets at the airport side of the strip we found better but it would depend what your looking for.
we has a great meal at Gordon Ramsey's burger restaurant really lovely. use the bus its a great way to get along the strip, everything is so huge and appears close by but it can take you ten minutes just to get across the road its so big.

Water drink lots and lots the heat is hot and dry, you will love it its an amazing place to visit. hooters is a good place to eat besides the obvious reason people visit the food is really good and reasonable too.

On our first trip (for 4 nights) we booked a show in the evening, booked a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, but the rest of the time just spent walking up and down the strip looking in all the hotels.
The second trip we did horse riding in Red Rock Canyon, it was a great trip.

Bonnie Springs Ranch at Red Rock Canyon has been sold for building development this year and the Motel, Horse riding, petting zoo and Western Town is now all gone.

We did a quick trip (internal flight from Tampa) for a couple of days to see Aerosmith and penn and teller. It was a crazy couple of days and we crammed lots in. We played the myvegas app for 8 months before going so had a 2 night free stay (had to pay taxes) in Vdara which was fantastic. Also, among other things, had 2 free buffets at Aria and the food was great.
Wed been before so knew about the heat and the long walk everywhere so used Uber a lot - as time was short and we didnt want to waste it. Linked Uber to my pre-paid Fairfx card and didnt experience any problems at all.
Got a good discount on groupon for Link fly and the high roller which we did around midnight (after the concert) and ques were non existent. Hardly had any sleep so needed to kip on flight back to Tampa.

Go up the stratosphere on the first night it will give you amazing views and an idea of the distance.

If you want to drink and dont want to play buy your drinks regardless of what people say they know who is playing and who is not and you dont want to be seen as free loading cheapskate. It is cheaper to buy drinks than play for free drinks.

The $20 trick does work for upgrades in some circumstances the shorter the stay and the slower the time (midweek) the better chance of success.

If you dont have a car (we would never be without a car in Las Vegas) use Uber there are Uber pickups at all hotels.

The outlets are cheaper than Florida there are two sets one in north and one in the south the north ones are much better.
