Venetian is the only hotel I have stayed on the Strip where I would not stay again property lovely, room good (though very dark and no lightbulb over 40w) did not like weekend clientele. I could add Circus Circus to it but we walked in to the room and decide can not to stay there.

I last stayed in Ballys in 1992 loved it really loved it Greta location great service and at the time Ballys big kitchen was the best buffet on the strip.

We stayed at Trump International in a suite with our two teenage DS - the suite was lovely - had kitchen, two bathrooms - king sofa bed in lounge and a separate bedroom en-suite.

Our room looked over the length of the Strip - we could see the Bellagio fountains etc - at night the view was incredible.

It was a 15 minute walk to the end of the strip, through the shopping mall and across the road. If you are an active family, we much preferred to walk and to then leave, rather than stay on the strip.

Some of our December nights are $25
I was very impressed and would have gladly paid more.
Thanks Jo thar helps. View would be nice but not essential.

Thats great prices. Mine are a bit higher but we are there over Rock N Roll race weekend and I was happyish with the price. Im on a fully cancellable rate if something else pops up!

That what we do Karen. I check every couple of days cancel and re book. Ours has gone up for December though. Hope you can get a bargain if not I think you will like Ballys

We booked hotels while touring on the West coast with Booking.com, we cancelled one in Vegas and booked a different one for a longer period, we also walked in to a hotel at San Francisco and walked out again, then booked elsewhere. It allowed us to be more flexible if we wanted to stop off somewhere. At Vegas we have stayed in Monte Carlo, we would stay again, Luxor, would stay again, Circus Circus not to everyone's taste but the rooms outside are very big with car parking practically outside your room, Excalibur, wouldn't stay again.
If you get the chance, go to Grand Canyon, no words or pictures can do it justice. We stayed overnight at Bright Angel Lodge in one of the cabins, it was 'bijou' but the bathroom was very big and we put our luggage in it, absolutely gorgeous scenery just a short walk away from the cabin.

I have stayed in lots of Casinos in Vegas since 1990. Cheap ones to expensive ones. All on the Strip. The cheap ones were decent and value for money. Most have gone now. Sands, Dunes, Imperial Palace, Aladdin were a few. I moved a bit more upmarket MGM, Treasure Island at the Mirage, The Mirage, Venetian, Bellagio. But without doubt the best and only place I will return to is Wynn/Encore.

I would return to any of the ones we have stayed at. Some better than others. Love the Wynn its a beautiful hotel but have to say I much prefer the location of a lot of other hotels. Depends on what is important to you I suppose.
