Plant based yogurt

Is there anywhere on property to buy plant based yogurt and milk? Like from the fridges in the resort quick service restaurants? Our son has a milk allergy so can only eat soy/oat/almond etc milk and yogurt and we won’t have a fridge so can’t do a big grocery order of chilled stuff.

In my experience of staying at Caribbean Beach Resort and Riviera Resort in the last couple of years you can often buy in resort quick service restaurants or in the gift shop. However it’s not been reliable for us and it’s often been flavoured. Even the the plain versions I found to be too sweet.

This time I took lots of 20ml Oatly barista packets in a Tupperware box! But obviously that doesn’t work well if you plan to use with cereal.

I’ve never seen non dairy yogurt on property

Even in grocery orders it seems hard to find non-flavoured yogurt that isn’t full of sugar. We use the Alpro no sugars one at home but doesn’t seem to be anything similar in the US. He may just have to go without yogurt!

We actually use Oatly milk too, but the normal one that’s fortified, which you can get there but only in giant cartons and we would only use about 150ml at a time to make porridge so a lot would go to waste.

It might be worth joining a Fort Wilderness fans social media site as their store is aimed more at those self-catering and they maybe able to confirm if the products you require are available.

My daughter also can’t have milk, we bought alternative from CBR last year no problems. The yogurts are literally sugar bombs so I would definitely avoid those 😬

We took cartons of the long life Oatly milk with us. The fridge in the rooms at All stars, Caribbean beach and Saratoga springs were perfectly adequate for keeping it cold. We ran out on our last day and couldn’t find non flavoured milk in the resort shop so he had to have vanilla flavour for one morning. He wasn’t bothered but wouldn’t have wanted to do that all the time!

I was just thinking earlier that the beverage cooler might be ok for oat milk because it wouldn’t spoil the same way as normal milk would. I checked the Wilderness Lodge quick service mobile order menu and they actually have soy milk on it but at $3.29 a pop!

If you are doing some shopping offsite I buy the nut pod milk, the original is almond and coconut which has no sugar. You can buy the big ones for the fridge or smaller long life cartons at 330ml. I bought a couple of the smaller ones this time due to the beverage cooler fridge at CSR. You refrigerate after opening and they were fine.
