Wheat Free Food
Hi Everyone,
I have a wheat intolerance not a gluten intolerance, although there is a bit of an overlap I just wondered if much of the bread and pizza bases etc are also wheat free? I know that in the UK some breads, cakes etc are GF but not WF.. just wondered if that was the same for the states? When I was in Illinois in the summer i didn't come across many GF products that I could eat so I just wondered it Florida was an exception? Also, is the general concensus to ring in advance for any specific requirements? People never seem to know the difference between GF and WF for some reason and i usually end up taking the risk with GF products. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

hello stephanie, welcome to the Dibb...I'm sure Clare will be along to help you soon, but you can note wheat allergy at Disney restaurants and the Chef will come out and speak to you about you requirements. Most of the counter service locations have a binder with specific information too.
Last Oct, I was told that lots of the Disney products are sourced from Wonder?... my DD2 has a peanut allergy and couldn't eat any bread because none were cooked on premises and could not therefore be guaranteed.

Thanks for the updates Shona, it sounds like you had a fantastic time
![]() Hi and welcome Stephanie ![]() ![]() However, if you're concerned then like Ruth says have a note made on your ADRs that you cannot eat wheat, but anything that is truly gluten free will not contain wheat as us coeliacs can not have wheat. |

Thanks for the comments guys! Really appreciated
![]() Maybe it's different in florida because my friend has coeliacs and she gets prescribed food from the hospital which has wheat in it with the protein removed, which is quite common over here. In starbucks and other coffee shops they sell a lot of muffins etc that still contain wheat without the protein. But if they use rice based products then it sounds like i should be fine! Thank you again... just one question, sorry, but what's an ADR? ![]() Stephanie |

I think in your case stephanie, just to make 100% sure, make sure it's noted 'wheat allergy' on all your adrs. I find the us products so much more tasty than the uk foods, especially the bread and pizza, hope you enjoy too

Clare - do you have anything listed for Sci-Fi Dine In? DH is desperate to go her again, but looking at the menu, there doesn't seem to be many GF choices.
Thanks Clare XX |

Hi Clare, I've just checked my lists from special dining and it doesn't give any option for Sci Fi, however, all Disney restaurants will offer a GF option but some restaurants offer more than others, looking at the Sci-Fi restaurant there doesn't seem to be much choice but as long as you notify disney dining of your DH's GF they will offer something, albeit possibly a burger without a bun

Howdo,
Find below a link to the official PDF guide from Disneyland Paris regarding Food Allergies and the help they can give people with special dietary requirements. http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/UK/...lergies_uk.pdf We have heard various good reports from DLP who operate in a very similar manner to WDW, with the restaurant managers or chefs talking to guests about their needs. ![]()

Hi,
It appears that I have coeliac disease too (currently undergoing tests) - however I am also vegetarian, and really worried that I'm going to starve on holiday! I have a list of restaurants that cater for allergies however, the coeliac options are mainly meat or fish based. I'm sure I won't be the first veggie coeliac, I just need to be reassured. I made my ADR's before the doctor realised what my problem was and at the moment we are booked in at: Le Cellier, Boma, Sanaa, Kouzzina, Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, Tokyo Dining, Princess Dining (Epcot), O'hana and the Hoop de doo. Can anyone reassure me please? Thanks. x |
