At Seaworld today and Mako was walk on
At Seaworld today and surprised that Mako was so easy to get on to. As were all the other rides other than artic explorer (don't ask me why that ride was so busy). In fact the only queue was to get in to the park due to increased security, for obvious reasons. Everyone had to get through metal detectors and all the bags were being searched very thoroughly.
Mako was amazing and terrifying at the same time.

Looks like an amazing coaster and a good addition to the park. Would love to ride but feel that SeaWorld still have a long way to go to get the general public's confidence back which is unfortunate. Still think that Kraken is one of the best coasters to ride anywhere and definitely in my top 10 rides.

How to Mako actually compare to Kraken? Kraken makes me very sick so I hoping perhaps Mako may not... still have to ride it anyway.

Could ride Kraken all day long (did it three times on the go on our last visit) - Mako has some interesting airtime as it's a fast hyper coaster so although Mako doesn't have any inversions like Kraken I'm sure it would (hopefully) be very fast and intense. Mako has a couple of fast bunny hops which some will definitely love and some may find extreme.
My DW gets a little sick due to not liking inversions (and due to this would not go on Kraken) but is totally fine on fast coasters like Mako.

Wow you'd feel pretty peeved if you paid an extra $25 for a Mako fast pass and then just stroll on. Not that I'd pay that anyway.

Looks like a great coaster. We would like to visit SeaWorld next year on our Florida return but feel a little conflicted as to whether to visit or not.
It might all boil down to finances anyway. Agree with a pp that SeaWorld are struggling in terms of public opinion. There is lots in the park that looks appealing and plenty of conservation messages. I think, ultimately, we will have to go and judge for ourselves. Never watched the documentary btw as thought it might be too upsetting. Tough call! |
