Day trip to Tampa

We are staying on AMI for 2 weeks next summer but fancy a day trip to Tampa.

We have done Busch Gardens previously and plan to take in either a baseball game or NFL game if the schedules suit (maybe even both!) but what, if anything is worth seeing or doing in Tampa itself?

If going to a baseball game (Tropicana Field), you'll be in St Petersburg on the other side of the bay rather than Tampa.

How about Lowry Park zoo or Ybor city in Tampa?
If into art, the Dali museum in St Petersburg is very good.

If you are going to St Petes to see the baseball Fort De Soto is well worth a visit.

Depending on when your going you could go and watch an ice hockey game ( tampa bay lightning )

Other things we have done and can recommend in Tampa are Lowry Zoo and the Aquarium and boat trip around the Tampa Bay. Both of these we have done before going to ice hockey in Tampa
