Golf info please

Hi.
My DH is looking to play a course he hasn't played yet.
We are staying near Champions gate.

Which of the 3 champions gate courses are the best please?

Already booked for Highlands reserve and he's taking the kids to Disneys oak trail.

Many thanks

Been a while since I last played Championsgate but both of the courses are amazing and he wont be dissapointed

The National is a more traditional US style course, whereas the International has the US spin on what an overseas course is like, mainly including elements of Links style courses

I would also personally recomend Celebration, just for the surroundings and views of the back gardens on some of the holes alone its well worth a visit

Hi would agree with above and add that if he's a good golfer maybe don't play highland reserve , not great reports on here lastly. Has he played the Disney courses, Orange County , southern dunes or my favourite grand cypress.

As Antiguaman said Celebration is a good course with stunning houses surrounding some holes.
I would also recommend Orange County National, 2 18 hole courses and also a 9 hole course that would probably be good with the kids?
Practice facilities at OCN are also superb.

Thank you for your replies.

He played celebration when he first started playing a number of years ago. He may well go back and play it now he has got his handicap down a bit.
He is playing Highlands reserve tomorrow as it's two blocks away from the villa.

He has played Disney oak trail with the kids in the past and LBV of the Disney courses. Along with Falcons fire and one of the Orange lake courses.

So many choices out here.

Another who wouldn't recommend Highlands Reserve

Its absolutely fine but lacking any wow factor.

Personally I don't think a great deal of the original Champions Gate layouts and would say that the new Champions Gate Country Club was better and was certainly in better condition last year.

As others have said Celebration and OCN are definitely worth a game.

I can firmly recommend Southern Dunes which will be about 10 miles away up Highway 27 towards Haines City.

My personal opinion having played it countless times is that last years renovations / remodelling have taken it up another notch.

It is in the best condition I have ever seen it and some of the new run offs round some of the greens have made it far more difficult

Hi all,

We played highlands twice this week course is in good condition, but play was slow.
Would like to try another course or two, have stayed and played at southern dunes which was great, a proper course! But looking for more suggestions.
Does anyone know how much club hire is at champions gate? Is there any discount coupons for club hire either on champions gate or any other courses? Thanks

May I cut in slightly off topic

Have you seen the Tim tracker you tube video on the new driving range with the targets? Looks really good, like WTG if you ever played that?
