How long are you staying and are you looking for a hotel or villa? Most hotels on FMB are beachside and there is a range available. At the top end you have hotels such as The Diamond Head and Gull Wing. Both good hotels , a bit large for my personal preferance. If you are after a mid range hotel with direct access to beach The Wyndham is very good. It is located at mid island so quieter than those near Times Square. Has a good sized pool with beach bar that has live music and if you are a seafood fan Pinchers is on site. Other small local hotels like The Carousel , Dolphin Inn and Outrigger look good but have not stayed in those to give a personal view.

Thank you! We are staying 3 nights so think a beachside hotel will fit the bill. We dont need "a resort" so will take a look at the mid/small suggestions.

Also like the idea of being mid island as did wonder after reading some reviews if FMB is to busy/lively for us

Can’t recommend hotels as we travel over from Cape Coral but round about the Times Square area on Ft Myers beach is always busy and lively (good for jet skiing and watersports) and has some good restaurants - we like Yucatan, Nervous Nellies and Mr Tequila. Try and drive along Estero Blvd towards Lovers Key (great kayaking) and Bonita Beach. Have a great time.

We have stayed here. It is next to Times Square and right on the beach. It does not have a big pool but the place was spotless.

It was very quiet when we were there but it was May so probably a quieter time.

We stayed in the outrigger last year. The stretch of beach there is amazing. It's like sand. Kids got bored after a few days though. They did love the cinema just across the road from outrigger as it had big chairs and tables and they you could have a meal while watching. Would love to go back just to feel that sand and omg the sunsets are amazing.

We stayed at the Pink Shell Beach Resort, at the northern end of FMB and it was amazing, right on the powdery white sand with 2 pools.

Just a 15 mins walk to the centre by the pier or if you prefer, regular trolleys passing.
