Global Entry programme Virgin

Just seen this on the Virgin site.

virginatlantic/gb/en...-precheck.html

Has anyone used it?

Does it mean a faster route through customs at MCO?

OK. Global Entry authorisation is held by a few of us on here. We did ours last December.

It's not a quick process and involves you being interviewed in America and there is a cost payable to the Home Office and the US Govt.

This link to the Dibb Guidebook which I created explains the process from start to end.

https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Glo...y--p-1553.html

Are you guaranted to be approved - No
Is it worth doing if you go once a year or less - Probably not
Does it speed up the entry process - Enormously.
Does it give you TsaPre on departure - Yes

The CBP occasionally operates mobile enrolment centres to conduct interviews for those already conditionally approved, at the US Embassy in London.

The last one ran from early March until the end of May 2018. There does not tend to be much advance notice of these events, but you can change existing future appointments to a London date, if and when they do become available.

Now that the CBP can do the enrolment for conditionally approved applicants at immigration in some airports (including MCO, I believe), this is less critical, but still may be useful for some.

You are right. Orlando, Miami and Tampa all do the interview at the desk if you don't want to go back to the airport for the interview during your vacation.

We had ours done at the desk in Orlando the first week it was in operation there.

Five years, and unlike an ESTA, you do not need to get a new one if your passport expires during that period, you can update your new passport details on the CBP site.
