We haven't been yet, but I know a lot of the state parks have kayaks to hire, it all depends on how far you want to travel. We're just trying to decide which one to visit at the moment, there is a website which gives info on each park, cost of parking, facilities etc.

We can recommend canoeescape which is out Tampa way as we took my sister and brother-in-law a few years back, great fun!

Cheers,

I asked a similar question re canoeing/kayaking. Someone recommened the following two state parks. I have had a look and they look great - some peace and quiet after the parks. Hope this helps.

Wekiwa State park is about 45 mins from Disney. - Wekiwa Springs

Lake Louisa is about 20 mins from Disney.

We did Wekiwa and it was really enjoyable. They had various kayaks and canoes which you could hire by the hour / day (it was also very cheap!)

It's canoeing, not kayaking, but:

The seven-mile canoe run from Juniper Springs is one of the best canoeing opportunities in central Florida.

kayaking/canoeing in Florida

Hi, have looked at the suggestions from everyone but cannot find a guided tour - they have stopped doing the tours at Wekiwa park. All of those suggested hire the canoes/kayaks but then have to do your own thing. Any other suggestions for guided tours?

Many thanks

Christine
