Discovery island was very boring and never many people there whenever I went. Most were waiting for the boat back.
River country was amazing, especially having the characters jumping in the pool with you. |

I find this all so interesting too. The photos are really eerie, like something out of a horror film!

I loved river country, a very chilled out water park, and also the first of its kind, it set the trend for all other water parks.
Discovery Island , though I was only 11 when I last went to it, as I think it was closed after that visit I remember holding a parrot and having my photo taken, walking the paths round the Island. It was like a mini Animal Kingdom, and once there was Animal Kingdom I guess there was no need for it. The centre of Animal Kingdom is called Discovery Island!

With how they currently seem to be trying to attract guests with deeper pockets than average I'd be surprised if they don't have plans to turn Discovery Island in to an ultra exclusive club level resort island. I can imagine it being surrounded with water bungalows similar to those at the Poly, maybe even a restaurant to rival V&A etc.
