There are multiple layers of entertainment and places to visit in Florida that most tourists never see on an annual 2 weekly visit. With the pull of the theme parks visitors have little time to fully explore what's on offer and many holidays are almost mirror matches of each other.

The best advice I can offer is to stop thinking like a tourist. Consider what you would do if you currently had a 2 weeks vacation at home in the UK and wanted to go out each day. Would you go to Alton Towers and Chessington repeatedly?

as mentioned, a day in st augustine (or two!), silver moon drive-in, lakeridge winery, and a trip to the rodeo.

did all of them last month, and they are all great ways of doing something *different* in florida

on top of that, how about the international independent showmens museum?

I was at lakeridge winery last week. Great tour and wine tasting too. Nearby, there is the Florida Citrus Tower which is tallest freestanding structure in area and has great views for up to 30 miles. Next door is the very quirky Presidential Hall of Fame, a true historic "roadside attraction" worth a wander around

If you are going to the Mt Dora or Tavares area I would strongly recommend a seaplane tour.

jonesairandsea/flightseeing-tours/

I took my seaplane rating a few years ago and regularly fly out from this area, beautiful flying...
