We also stayed at the Belfry b & b, I'd really recommend it. I think you need at least two nights, we stayed three.
We walked along the beach to Sandsend one day, you need to check the tides though.

Unless you’re dead set on B&B there are lots of lovely holiday cottages/ apartments that will take 2 night bookings, Ingrid Flute’s Yorkshire Holiday Cottages has a good selection x

Captain Cook's haven, just outside the town centre have lots of nice holiday cottages , with a swimming pool. around 20-25min walk into town

Try Air BnB, we secured a lovely loft apartment for a wedding weekend last year. It looked out over the sea with views of the Abbey too. Fish and Chips - you will be spoilt for choice in Whitby.

We’ve stayed at the Dolphin and the Angel. Both nice and very central. Try the Humble Pie and Mash for something a bit different x
