The One With No Rest Days. Pre Trip Report- The Plans

The Plans (Written on 4th August 2019)

I have booked this trip in the way that I find the most practical, and what I did in 2014…

We will be leaving Manchester Airport at 1pm on Saturday 2nd May. When we land in Orlando, we will catch the Magical Express to Port Orleans French Quarter, where we stay for one week with the Disney Dining Plan. After a week we check out, and we move to a hotel on International Drive. At this point we will most likely hire a car. We will then visit all of the none-Disney parks, and fly home again on Saturday 16th May.

I originally planned to hire a car for the whole trip, but Disney introduced the parking cost at the hotels. This made it absolutely not worth hiring a car, and we will simply use the Disney Transport.

I like to stay half off site for many reasons. Firstly, it’s much more practical for the other parks. Secondly, it’s cheaper. And thirdly, I love the restaurants on I-Drive.

I am hoping the crowd levels won’t be too intense, as the days are all green or yellow on the crowd calendars, we have avoided any major holidays and the kids are in school.

I am hoping for good weather as September 2014 was very rainy, often all day every day which meant that lots of rides would close.

I have stayed on site before at Caribbean Beach Resort, so I cannot wait to experience Port Orleans. I have never had a Dining Plan before, but I love that this massively reduces how much spending money we will need.

So far, those are the plans. I have done a rough itinerary, but it may change many times so it’s definitely not ready for publishing and laminating yet.
