[QUOTE=Loopylooloo;14122133]How is second week?[/QUOTE

Thanks Loopylooloo. The second week was better than the first, but the food a lot of the time was still cold. We ended up not bothering to complain to the waiters.

We refused to eat in the Buffet because there were flies everywhere.

I sent an email to the Carnival office in Miami about our concerns. I have had a couple of replies, but only after I told them I would be contacting their CEO. I have been told that they will be in touch with me on Monday.

I'll put an update on when I hear back from them.

We did enjoy the islands we went to. It was parts of the cruise that were not up to what we expected from a large cruise line.

Well I hope it hasnt put you off cruising, please try another line you can always come here for advice or help choosing what might suit you! Im off on a lovely five nighter on Saturday with freds, a small ship only holds 1340 passengers but food is always fantastic.
And next year we are sailing with celebrity on a huge ship, but we have always found that a great cruise line too, quieter than RCL, but amazing food, and a very modern feel. Am glad your second week was at least quieter? Hopefully head office will respond appropriately

I hope you get a positive response from Carnival tomorrow and as Loopylooloo says don’t let it out you off cruising.
We used to cruise quite happily with Carnival but had a minor but annoying issue with them a few years ago. It was caused by the info sent out by Carnival UK not being the same as that issued in the US. the intransigence of onboard staff (the main one being from the UK who admittied we had followed the UK info) was unbelievable. We finally told them to leave us alone as we were being pestered with phone messages on a daily basis and the issue didn’t warrant the stress.
Jobsworth personified.

Thanks. We were told that Celebrity were very good, so we may look at them.

Enjoy your cruise.

I am sorry OP your Carnival cruise is not going well. I’ve been on 4 and never have an issue other than with Luke warm food and VAT charges. The VAT charges related to a purchase I had made via the US website.

In fact I once booked a cruise and within 3 days of booking the itemisers changed with 13 months to go, they offered to refund my air costs and book an alternative cruise, or refund in full.

With the food, ask to speak to the Matria De. He/She will note your room number that you want pipping hot food. Each time you enter the restaurant you will have a red ticket which will show the request. I’ve done this on every cruise I’ve been on and never had a problem, including RCL and NCL, as I always find the food Luke warm, which ever ship I’ve been on.

Here is an email address iCare@carnival.com.

As a final resort, you could message John Heald on Facebook.

Good luck.
