Transport options please
Hi everyone,
We are a family of 4 adults who will be sailing on 14th December. We are in the parks for a few days prior but I am stuck when it comes to transport from our wdw resort to the port and then from the port to the airport. So, first of all from wdw resort to the port. We have an early PAT as we like getting there early and I assume the options are 1. Hire car (we are very busy so may struggle to collect) 2. Disney transport (not sure of the cost and means we have no control of the time we arrive, any one know what time it departs 3. Uber/lyft, more control but again not sure of the price Coming back we have a day room at MCO so need to get to the airport. Again options may be 1. Hire car, is it easy to pick one up from near the port? 2. Disney transport, what time does this leave and any idea of the cost 3. Uber/lyft, are there areas where they collect and any idea of the price. I know there are a lot of questions here and I have searched to see if I can find the answers on the dibb but I failed. Thanks for your advice. Phil |

So time wise, the WDW transfers tend to get you to the port late so I probably wouldn't go down this route. Price wise a private transfer is probably going to be cheaper than Disney transport as this is $35 per person. Larry's Limos I've used quite often for Miami to cruise port and they've always been a great price and great service. I personally wouldn't use Uber as I like to prebook a time and know exactly the fare but there are loads of transfer companies that I'm sure others can recommend.

I would look at hiring a car for sure. You can get a lift to the Disney Car Centre and pick it up the morning of the cruise from your resort - a one way car rental x 2 is still cheaper than 4 x $78 (the cost of DCL transport per person - $39 each way).
You can do a one way car hire from the port too and catch the free shuttle they provide. You can then stop on the way to the airport for second breakfast (a must!) and a bit of last minute shopping if you want. We've done Uber lots (not to the port or airport) and you get a fixed price and you can book a time too. Depends on how comfortable you are with Uber/Lyft. Joa

If you are at an Epcot resort you can wander across to the Dolphin and collect a car there...?
