It’s finally booked!
Off to Japan we go! We found good flights with BA and JAL, flying from Heathrow on May 9th to Tokyo via Hong Kong and then back to London from Tokyo on the 23rd May.
Our rough plan at the moment is to have 4-5 ish days in Tokyo then using the trains to travel, stay over in Kyoto and Osaka for a few days each city (with day trips to Hiroshima and Nara) then back to Tokyo for the last few days to visit Disney Sea and Disneyland. So at the moment we are in the planning stage of looking at hotels etc, I’m reading everyone’s trip reports who has been to Japan, watching loads of YouTube videos, I am so excited it’s untrue! Any hints, tips or advice will be gratefully received

We have booked our flights too, for November. Direct from Heathrow to Tokyo with JAL for £1145 which I thought was an amazing price.

That’s a fab price for direct flights, BA wanted £600 more than that for us to go direct, but I honestly don’t mind flying via Hong Kong at all.
Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Thank you, how did you find the weather? When I look it says temps of about 21 to 25 degrees which sounds too good to be true!
We usually travel around in Asia in May and we are always sweating buckets what was your experience of the temperature and how was the humidity? Thank you!

It was as you put, warm / hot but not offensive. One day it rained for 4 hours but we were on bullet train to Kyoto so did not bother us. One surprise after US, air con mostly used to take edge off heat in Tokyo - rather than freeze you like in US.
