Mobile Refund of deposit

Has anyone else had an issue getting their deposit back on a cruise? We are outside the 89 day window and have not got a suite or concierge booking. When reading the T&C’s we should get our deposit back, plus we were told we would be able to when we booked it. It’s really frustrating. Anyone else had this happen?

The only time we came close to having to cancel a cruise we would have lost the deposit, or we could transfer it to another cruise of the same or greater price within a year.

We booked through Disney for a 5 day European cruise. At the time we were told you only lost your deposit after 89 days before. We rang them to cancel and now they are saying we lose the £300 deposit.

If you have it as part of the t&c’s at the time of booking then, as you expect, your deposit should be returned. Contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline: 03454 04 05 06 for further advice and if necessary commence a claim through the Money Claims service or Money Claims Online citizensadvice.uk/la...a-small-claim/

Have you got this in writing? Deposits are usually non refundable.

Certainly I’ve had deposits returned to me for Disney cruises I’ve booked and then changed my mind on, but they were all booked through US DCL. Have you booked through U.K. DCL? If so I wonder if the T&Cs are different (I have a feeling they are).

Funnily enough we rang DCL and booked it through them, however when we went to cancel through the same number they couldn’t find it and it had been transferred to Walt Disney travel company so we had to ring a different number. It’s all very strange.

Have you tried seeing if you can change to a date further away and then trying to cancel? I have managed to get my deposit back from Disney but this was alot further out so not sure if the rules are different.
