Apple Watch series 5

With the current exchange rate I’ll save about £100 on an Apple Watch in Florida

Seems a great deal. Is there any reason not to do this?

You're "supposed" to declare it in customs when you get back to the UK and pay import duty on it...

Bought mine last year from the Apple shop. I also bought the extended warranty and it was still cheaper than the UK watch.

I bought a refurbished 4 last summer (before the 5 was released) and saved even more, I also bought the extended warranty. Check out the refurbished section on the apple store

Declaring is on goods over £390, so a watch may be under that.

As for people being up front and honest bringing something through, I bought a Macbook Pro last summer (massive saving over UK prices) and going through customs on return there was no-one there even if someone did want to declare anything.

What will you do for the warranty? Even buying the extended warranty, Apple UK won’t honour a warranty for a product purchased outside of the UK. It’s frustrating but true. I did some research last year hoping to upgrade my iPhone while back home. Everything I read from Apple themselves, and people’s personal experiences says no.

Historically iPhones had different cover to other devices, but I think they changed their approach when the X was released so may be global now.

As a comparison, had no issues with iPad bought in US before and cover in UK. Same for MacBook - I bought UK spec (keyboard etc) customised and ordered to store, so if there is an issue it can be replaced/swapped out.

If you’re after an upgrade I’ve found better deals here tbh.
