Hi Guys (can I get away with that on this forum since I seem to be the only "Guy"?)
DGF and I are seriously considering the licence by mail route since we have friends flying in for their first full day on the day we were planning to get our licence. The only problem is that we wanted to make that day a bit special and have booked CRT. I'm now unsure if we will get back in time, even if we get to the courthouse for opening. How long do I need to allow for getting the licence if I get there as it opens on a Monday morning? I understand that Osceola is about half an hours drive back to the parks/hotels, would that be accurate?
TIA
David

Hey David thanks for joining us gals... ha! Actually, you'd be surprised how many guys I work with and not the brides. More common than you'd think!

As for your question, if you arrive when the clerks office opens you really should be able to get in and out quickly. It is a first come first serve queue so it just depends on how many are waiting there with you to obtain a license. You both need to be there to get it and if you have the form filled out before you arrive that will cut down on time as well.

It is roughly a 30 minute drive but also consider that opening time is still within our traffic time for locals and also a busy time for families making their way to the parks.

Congratulations!

Thanks Carrie,

Looks like it might be an idea to put breakfast back a bit then, I had it booked in for 09:35 at CRT, what do you think?

David

That would be a good idea. I think you would find it difficult to get back in time. Just making your way through Disney parking/transportation can take 30 minutes.

Hi everyone! We went to the courthouse in Osceola County (really beautiful building!) on a Thursday morning around 9.30 - 10.00. It was really quiet, no queue and the whole process took about 10 mins. We printed off and filled in the form before we went to save time. A friend of mine did tell me that when she went there it was a bit later in the day and when they came out, about 11am, the queue was out of the door and down the steps! So definately best to get there early! We stayed on the US27 and it took about 30 mins to get there.
This was one of the things I was worrying about getting sorted but it really is more straight forward than you think!

Where do you get the form from to print and complete beforehand?

Planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon this day so we don't get in a park that is all crowded!

Good morning Guys

I just read on another board that you have to be in the country 7 days before you can marry. Also that you cannot marry until 3 days after you have received your marriage license.

Surely this is incorrect?

If you are a non US citizen you can get married as soon as you have the licence.

If you are a US citizen then there is a 3 day waiting period.
