$200 Lightsaber

So when I saw that Disney had a $200 lightsaber at Galaxy's Edge I was like "Pffft! That is RIDICULOUS! $200 for a lightsaber?!?!".

I have just watched some videos on it and damn it looks like a cool experience building it and it looks awesome!

Am I nuts for wanting to buy one?!

I always live by the philosophy that you regret what you didnt do far more than the regrets you have for what you have done.

Saw a vlog on the droid yesterday and just wondered how you would get it home 🤔. Not sure regarding the batteries fitted.

I wonder what issues there will be getting them home. I believe the blade by itself is 34" long so greater than the diagonal on a max size checked case and hand luggage limits (eg Virgin). Would it be classed as another item (e.g. purse etc) that they allow in the cabin?

I'm getting myself a lightsaber too, may look at getting it shipped home if virgin won't let me take it on board as cabin baggage, they didn't reply to my tweet asking them

Unless I've forgotten pythagoras, they'll fit diagonally (max size of (35.5h x 29.5w x 16d) gives a diagonal of 40.5) - I know we've managed to fit Chris's crutches in before.

And yeah - before videos, "I'm not spending $200 on a lightsaber"
After videos? "Shut up and take my money!"

The TSA allow them on as carry on luggage apparently. Whether the airline do though due to the size is another matter!
