Family of 5 in Virgin economy, which seating configuration did/would you choose?
As the title says I booked our flights yesterday and also chose our seats. Outbound I chose a 3+2 one row behind the other but inbound this wasn't available so I went for a 3 + 2 from the row of 4 next to it. I thought these would work best in terms of not having to go past anyone else to use the loo etc. Any other families or groups of 5 what did you do?

I always do a 3 and 2 with the 3 in front, I end up with the needy child who is better behaved 1 on 1, she also doesn't like the window so I get that, she goes in the middle and annoys the person on the end with her hourly toilet breaks

If it’s the 747 configuration I usually pick a 3 with a 2 behind. There’s a couple of those seats near the back around row 42 I think

We're travelling as a 5, we've got a 3 + 2 in front in the bubble on the way out and on the way back we're sitting downstairs and doing 3 + 2 over the aisle.
The 2's will be our boys who will be 14 & 17 when travelling so happy to be left to it and look after themselves.

When I travelled as 5 We did 3 with 2 across the aisle as nobody other than our group is disturbed when you need to get out . I actually prefer being in the same row ( even with the aisle between us ) as you can see your group , in front and behind you can’t see them at all .

We do a 3 and 2 behind. I sit with the girls in the 3 - one who occasionally gets travel sick and the other is a mummy’s girl. DH isn’t a great traveller, so he sits with DS, who is in heaven to sit with snacks and drinks, tv and games.

We always choose 3 with 2 in front. 9 & 11 year olds in front so we can hear them and see what they are up to. Plus I can let them recline without bothering anyone else. They have had a spare seat next to them the last two holidays both ways and they have had a great time spreading out.

I always have the 3 and 2 behind but would much prefer those 2 across the aisle but with 3 lads always end up having to have 2 window seats even though I explain every time that once out of uk waters you don't really see anything for hours.Hate being in those 2 seats, my other half always sits with 2 of the lads because he is very broad and hates when his shoulder is over the other seat with someone who he doesn't know.Me, well I get stuck in the middle with the smelly stranger like last years flight out or the weirdo that sucks their nails and fingers for nearly 9 hours (flight back) !... absolutely have those across the aisle seats!

We have chose the back each time so three and two behind...I found it fine, toilets no bother and we don't take any of the food, just drinks so nothing to complain about there. Hubby def had extra room for his legs in the two row as he's 6 foot 4. We have had very lengthy immigration lines on all of our trips, that is to do with other flights arriving at the same time and being at the back.
