DAS or FP+ for shows, Lion King, Fantasmic etc
I am booking FP+s tomorrow.
We have two non disabled children who will be wanting to FP BTM etc kind of rides. Our disabled daughter prefers Peter pan, IASM etc. I am wondering if its worth FPing any of the shows or do they allow early access to get seated with a Das ? Our daughter will be in a wheelchair but the DAS is for congnitive disablilties. How far in advance do we need to be at the entrances for shows ? If a show starts at 1pm, are guests let in to find a seat at 1pm or does the show start at 1pm ? Thankyou

Certainly for Lion King there is a separate 'disabled' queue and it is let into the show first. There are a limited number of seats and ECV/Wheelchair spaces in the theatre. Last year these seats had been taken when it got to our turn to go into the theatre, so we were told to come back for the next show and the cast member had automatically read our magic bands (which is a bit spooky!) and made a note of them. I'm assuming this was the start of the new DAS system, where if you're in a wheelchair or ECV you don't need a card/pass anymore. You just get given a return time, equivalent to waiting in the existing standby queue.
The Show Times listed are the times that the shows start, so seating begins at least 15/20 minutes beforehand - for Lion King it's almost 30 minutes beforehand. For Nemo show at AK I would recommend a FP to get into the show early. There's no 'disabled' queue, but specific seats/locations for wheelchairs and ECVs. However the last few wheelchair/ECV places are right by the entrance where all the late arrivals come in, even after the show has started. I would rather have not seen the show than had to go through all the disruption all around us.

We managed to get fast passes for both the lion king show and fantasmic on the day after we had used our first three fast passes and these fit very well with our schedule. Could be worth considering.

Just to say, in Lion King, there is a fast pass disabled queue and a non-fastpass disabled queue. I tend to book a fast pass anyway so use the FP disabled queue anyway.
