Exactly this, I never liked the GC off I Drive, but we tried the one on 192 last year and loved the place, for a fill up breakfast. I was eating Mexican rice and ground beef for breakfast and found it really tasty and the place was very clean.
The crab salad was full of large pieces of fresh crab! It was delish!
We don't overload our plates, nor waste the food, like some do. But as DH and I like different food items, it was ideal to pick and choose what took our fancy.
We weren't on a tight budget either, just wanted an easy fill up and get on with our day out.

Never in the history of the DIBB has one single restaurant produced as may polarised opinions as Golden Corral.

50% say that it's a great place to satisfy a healthy appetite with a vast choice for a reasonable price. We have breakfast there maybe three or four times a holiday. Dinner not so much.

The other 50% say yuk ! Plastic plates and I'll never cross the threshold again as I once saw a child with his finger in the chocolate fountain.

Manage your expectations, don't expect V&A, try it and draw your own conclusions.

This infuriates me as well. Returning to the table with a 15" high piled plate and leaving 12" of it.

If we spot something new we take a small "tester". If we hate it we don't mind leaving it. If it's nice we can go back and get a bit more.

The plate piled high thing is annoying but always see it unfortunately. I love GC for a breakfast, we go about twice. I always have the same too haha... hash browns, bacon, mushrooms and beans... love it! oh and several trips for pancakes.

Ok the GC is a bit of a melee, can feel like feeding time at the zoo, but for quick ( no waitingto be served) reasonable quality and choice, it really is good value. If you want food with a bit more ambience go elsewhere.
We use it for speed, and everone in our party will find something.
We still like Ponersosa but we always go to the one way down the 192 by the Walmart and Medeval times. Hope it is still there, wont touch any other.
We find that with a few of the chain ones, it is where you go.

You cannot beat it for choice and value. Freshly made omelettes cannot be beaten added to all the fresh fruit and yoghurt it certainly gives a healthy choice first thing in the morning.
Yes there certainly are nicer and cleaner places to eat and I hate the plastic plates but for choice the price wins every time for breakfast.

Do you mean the Ponderosa that was a mile or two past Walmart towards Kissimmee?

If so, we ate there in 2008 when we stayed at Bass Lake Estates, it had lots of sports scarves and memorabilia. I think that one closed in about 2010?

Sorry, I'll just clarify, it's not an option when the premium weekends are on, they up the price for admission. Usually a couoke of dollars more.

It doesn't do veggie sausages that I can recall, but if you want vegetables and lots of salad then you can fill your boots.
