I'm staying on site when I go in September - Port Orleans French Quarter. I'm getting the Magical Express from the airport to POFQ and back at the end of my trip and will use Disney transport when I'm there. The three days I'm off property (Discovery Cove and Universal/Islands of Adventure) I'll use Lyft or Uber.

Well said. There must be many reasons why people are alone, I don't think ,y children would even question that.
I have a family and children, none of whom feel the same love as I do, they enjoy it, but not the same as I do, we are all different. I look forward to a cheeky wee Disney trip, solo or with like minded friends. |

Put them straight?
For asking a legitimate question? Sorry if I've upset the applecart but it is beyond me to understand for any adult to travel alone and remain alone in a themepark. Especially disney - which ol' walt designed with children in mind. Going the toilet isnt really a good scenario to counter it. |

So you’re saying, if an adult wants to go to Disney but they’ve got no one to go with then they shouldn’t go?
Not everyone has kids. Not everyone has someone to go on holiday with. You don’t know people’s personal circumstances. No one should have to miss out on anything because of this. There’s also some people (myself included) who just want to go on holiday on their own. We can do what we want, when we want and I for one don’t give a hoo-ha what other people think. Running the Dopey challenge at WDW has been on my bucket list for a long time.
I have a medical condition which means that I’m able to attempt this challenge at the moment but have no idea when that might change. Logistics make a family trip in Jan 2019 (the next WDW marathon weekend) impossible so I was faced with the choice to attempt a long held dream (meaning a solo trip) or potentially never get the chance again. I’ve gone for the former, are there things I’m nervous/apprehensive about? Absolutely. Am I excited and going to embrace the whole thing? Absolutely. Thought this perspective might help you appreciate why an adult would ever consider a solo trip to somewhere aimed at children 😊 |

You don’t need to understand anyone else’s reasons for choosing their holiday - I’m certainly not going to justify my holiday choices to a stranger on the Internet, but everyone has different requirements for a holiday, just because it isn’t what you would choose doesn’t make it strange.
I would never personally choose to go on a beach holiday, but would never judge anyone else who wishes to do so. You have chosen a very odd forum to join if you don’t understand people enjoying Disney holidays! Also Walt’s vision of the parks was to be a place where everyone would enjoy - families come in all shapes and sizes, and not all include children. |

I did my first solo trip last May and loved every minute! I was never made to feel awkward either on rides or while dinin. I had DDPmand really enjoyed the table service meals, mainly because I use a scooter and a walking stick so self service was a bit of a pain sometimes. I’m currently waiting to see if thet are doing the free DDP before I book my second Solo trip - my 70th Birthday present to myself! I would definitely recommend solo trips!
