Sounds like some good grown up fun with the prospect of endless possibilities. I imagine we will be riding on those flying dragon things through the trees.

I think the avatar film and it's Eco premise fit exactly into the forest/jungle feel of AK. I loved the film and it did rather well at the box office so it is a smart move by Disney.

Dinoland is a waste of space if you ask me and has a mildly interesting back story to it - sort of like dinoland itself really. I hate the fact that you are asked to pay money to play on very mediocre fairground attractions. It feels tacky and un Disney like to us. We get the same feeling from the jaws area at universal. We avoid it.

I'd better try and sit through the whole movie now.

It might seem a strange match up but let's go along with it!

I was just about to post the same. DH has just said, 'well looks like your going to have to watch the film now', DS and DH have watched it a couple of times now but it has never really appealed to me

Fantastic film, and plenty of angles for possible rides/attractions. Looking forward to hearing more

To me there is no place for Avatar in AK! Disney are making a mistake in my opinion...

"Dances With Smurfs"...love it!

I never thought I'd like Avatar, but I actually did, & the visual aspect of it is amazing - so much could be done with it! To me, it sounds as though it'll be an addition rather than a replacement? AK is so easy to do in half a day, why would they want visitors there for even less time if Dinoland wasn't there? And for 3-4 years?! Surely there's no way they could justify removing such a big area of the park for such a long period of time?

My only disappointment is that it looks like it won't be completed until 2016/2017! I can't hold on for that long to go back, & I'm not sure I could convince DH to have 2 trips in the next 5/6 years unless we win the lottery...!

They should build a "Middle Earth" land instead of Dancing with wolves/smurfs... sorry Avatar. Don't know how they would fit it in but it would give Harry Potter a run for its money

avatar has a very strong conservation message running through it, about how man just destroys everything that is useful to him... AK is just the place for it

Fantastic idea IMO, Loved the film, for those of you who think it will ruin the park, if its an addition, just don't visit that section of the park...
