Wot, no Disney?! August 2019 Day 13

Our last full day 😫😫😫

I was still holding out a vague hope that everyone would wake up at a decent time and we would make it to Volcano Bay this morning but it was not to be. I was awake about 7 but the boys and dh did not wake up until gone 9. Oh well. We are not really waterpark people anyway, DS1 is not a strong swimmer and is nervous of water slides and ds2 is just learning to swim but is highly confident and thinks he’s amazing at swimming so you cannot take your eyes off him for a second 😂 Maybe in another couple of years... I don’t even like waterparks myself but the fact we could just walk to Volcano Bay from our hotel made it seem like something we really should have done. Never mind!

So, another lazy morning (although I was twitching in the background having been awake for a while and very conscious of the fact that it was our last full day) Boys has cereal for breakfast plus some of their candy haul from last night.
Dh had decided to hire a car again for today and tomorrow, as it was not much more than the price of getting an Uber xl to the airport and would give us some freedom around what we did in the morning.

The car was booked from 12:30. We were ready by about 11 and decided to get the bus over to Citywalk to do the crazy golf there as this had been on ds2’s wish list for a while (along with volcano bay that was clearly not happening this holiday!) We did the Sci-Fi course. This cost nearly $70 for the 4 of us 😧 It was super hot and humid today and we sweated buckets doing this. I was very glad we finished! The heat has not been bothering me too much up to this point but it did today!

Bye bye universal and Citywalk! We got the bus back to our hotel and picked up the car just in time for a torrential downpour!

We were heading over to Disney Springs now. I needed to change a top I’d bought that had a hole in it and dh really fancied another Ghiardellis ice cream. I decided to skip the ice cream and sorted out my top and pottered round the shops while the boys had ice cream. Then we headed to the Lego store where they spent a while making vehicles to race.

We left Disney Springs and headed to Walmart. We wanted some honey mustard sauce and dh needed some throat sweets. Duly purchased we headed straight back out to go to our last supper - The Cheesecake Factory.
We arrived about 4:20 and waited nearly an hour for our table.
Both boys had burger sliders. Dh had Cajun chicken pasta and I had one of my favourites, the 4 cheese pasta, with a side of roasted sprouts, so good!

I was washing this down with some very nice Pinot!

For dessert I had the Very Cherry Ghirardelli which Id had last year and loved.

The boys shared a 30th anniversary chocolate cake cheesecake and dh ordered a key lime cheesecake. This came out still pretty frozen and he ended up swapping it for another very cherry one. He also got a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake to go, for breakfast tomorrow!

We got back about 7:30, gave the boys a quick bath and then did some packing 😫 We’re just watching tv (and I’m trying to finish the wine that’s still in the fridge) before going to bed our selves... tomorrow is travel home day 😔
