Potential trip July 2019 - good and bad points?
Hi all, because of exams, exam results and co workers’ holidays we are looking at arranging a trip June 29th to July 14th 2019. We have never been at that time of year before and would normally choose late August - humid and stormy but less busy. Can you reassure me that it will all be ok? .
We are thinking 2 days at Universal followed by 14 at POFQ with QSDP. We have thought we would do without a car and use Uber or taxis. We also thought we would stay away from the parks on 4th July as I would imagine it to be super busy. We tend to dive into the parks for only a few hours and then retreat again - we definitely aren’t full dayers - no stamina . We also don’t tend to eat in full service onsite and would go offsite if we fancied a change from QSDP. Any thoughts welcome |

This is the same time we've been last year and two years ago. I've also booked 29th June to 15th July next year. We are doing nyc first for 6 nights and then down to pofq for ten . Last year I wish we would have stayed at pofq on the 4th as they were doing some hotel based activities but some friends were meeting us at Epcot for fireworks - it was mad ! We also did mk on the 3rd for fireworks as that's the 4th July test and it was unbelievable and couldn't move . Having said that daytime we stayed by the pool - I live the heat and humidity. You do get thunderstorms of course but we are like you ... go to a park for a few hours then back to hotel and different park at night. It didn't spoil our trip.
Ps I'd definitely stay at universal for those two days as I could not have done it without express pass. I hate long queues lol Edited at 08:17 PM. |

That’s really helpful thank you - it’s the only dates we can squeeze the holiday in next year but it doesn’t sound too terrible .
I am not good with crowds milling round me - maybe because I am a bit short so I feel overwhelmed with no view out - but we are also not too fussed about being close for the fireworks so can maybe watch from a distance. They were doing work on the food court last year at POFQ in August and that seemed to make it very busy with limited seating. I am imagining being busier will have a similar effect. |

To be honest the food court was absolutely fine when we were there in July - never ever struggled to get a seat. Also loads of people had been moved from cb due to the fiasco but you'd never have known

Brilliant . As long as we can escape the crowds when we need to I am hoping we will be ok.

We are doing similar for the same reasons... usually do end August. I think a bit of careful planning ahead, get your fastpasses sorted, have a few more resort days than 'normal'. The flights are cheaper thats a plus. We are also dip in dip out of parks so the crowds at any time of year dont really bother us at all. We do early mornings or evenings .
You'll be fine |

Thank you - We do early mornings but we are done by about midday - and that would be a long visit! Last time we went we had good fun resort hopping on the buses and nosying round the other food courts. We seem to eat just breakfast and then one other meal at about 4 ish so fingers crossed that’s not popular - we have definitely been the only ones in offsite restaurants in August. We will have to time those fastpasses well!

Excited about Disney

Hi we have been over this period to celebrate our wedding anniversary which is on July 4th! We did not find the crowds too bad really, the only really busy days were the 3rd and 4th July. We did the MK test run on the 3rd which was really busy but we got a nice spot to watch from. Our son is autistic and although he’s not good with crowds, the way Disney handled such a volume of people was impressive. They operated a one way system for direction people could walk in and they put lanes in which you had to follow. Made exiting and getting around much easier. We did the 4th at Hollywood studios and The fireworks were amazing. The weather was very hot during June/July. We absolutely loved it and would go in July again.

Just like us enough for 3 fast passes and one or two other things thrown in for good measure and we are done. If you do that I don't think it matters when you go crowd wise-
And maybe a few will delay their 2019 visit to late Autumn now with the Star Wars recent announcement- we can hope. |

We will see you there as we are booked in at POFQ from the 7th but will probably stay either offsite or universal for a few days first.
We always do July as it’s Scottish school holidays and I’m a teacher. We find it hot but more than manageable. Just a bit of extra planning around the 4th. Rope drops at MK have worked well for us but I also like starting late and staying late.
