Have we made a mistake with our seats?

If I were a party of 2, I would prefer to be at the back in the seats of 2.
a few more minutes in the immigration queue is preferable to the chance of 9 hours next to somebody annoying.
If OP is not a party of 2, then moving forward is a viable option.

We are next to the back in a row of four with nobody either side of us. I'm not too bothered about getting off last. As long as we get there! I'm sure we will end up queueing at immigration or for luggage anyway, or if you get stuck with another flight arriving at the same time. One way or another a wait will be involved.

You'll be fine. We flew over on Fri rows 62 & 63. Yes we were close to the back of the queue at immigration but from landing at 3.30pm ish, we were in an Uber by 5pm and at the RPR by 5.30pm
Our bags were waiting for us by the time we had done immigration so we thought it all went smoothly.

That's the "swings and roundabouts" the first time we were savvy enough to be in the bubble,and off quick, we were the first to the bottom of the stairs, and the first econ passengers off the flight... and about the 350th to have out bags arrive !
