They're updating their routes daily to LHR and some trips for 2021 may still show as a LGW departure however may stay LGW if travel picks up (doubtful) as they're keeping their slots on retainer.

Cause nobody can predict the future. The pull out from LGW is a definite maybe.

it's still showing the 747 flights though and they've said they will not fly again

No - sorry to those above

Virgin have definitely pulled out of Gatwick and will operate from Heathrow (Manchester, Belfast and Glasgow too)

Today, as can be seen around the DIBb, they put their LHR schedules on their web site. This shows times routes and initially (tbc) pricing

There are still flights showing for LGW and Virgin Hols havent yet moved everyone across.

So. Everyone just needs a little patience for VH to catch up and move people out of LGW flights and onto LHR flights

I would estimate in a couple of weeks all the LGw flights will be gone and VHols will have caught up to offer flights from LHR

I can't help on Virgin Holidays as we've never booked through them but the latest flights you can see on the VA site are returning 10 April.

Direct flights are being offered from LHR but not from LGW. Eye watering prices though for two reasons I guess. Only just released and they span Easter.

I know that VH can price holiday dates beyond the normal 330 days out but maybe they haven't caught up with VA's new schedules yet?

Mick

PS
I think my 74 year old fingers were overtaken by Mark - he basically said the same as me only quicker

and then the next problem as someone says above.
booking premium in a 747 so you pre select your seats then they bump the flight to the new aircraft and your seats aren't available !
they aren't making it easy to book with confidence

As I mentioned above you can see the seats if you do a dummy booking (in PE anyway) and it's certainly not a 747.

What we need to research is what has replaced 19A & C as the best seats on a 747

No idea who you're apologising to as no one mentioned they were staying at Gatwick?

We all know they've kept their slots on retainer, however it's doubtful they'll keep these in the long run as experts have said they don't see 2019 travel numbers returning until at least 2023 and with VS numbers being low pre-covid, it pretty much seals the fate of those slots imo.

From Virgin Holidays perspective they want to/need to sell holidays.

And if you look closely at their T&C's moving between London Airports is not deemed a major change (So LGW,LHR,LCY,LTN or STN are all ok departure points for them), nor is change of aircraft etc.
So from their viewpoint they are covered when Virgin Atlantic officially notify them of th changes.
