Virgin Holidays phone lines closed

Just been trying to chase up Virgin Holidays and noticed you now get an automated message saying they are closed.

Is this a sign of some changes being made or worse?

I'm hoping that they're setting up a system for those who are due to fly in next 3 weeks or due to pay balance within 14 days to contact them- communication from them has been woeful.

They managed to send me a (rather rude) email this morning telling me my balance is due in 15 days and if I don't pay it they will cancel my holiday! But can't manage to answer the phone.

My money is currently being 'held' by them. I paid with gift cards, but instead of giving me any sort of refund, they are holding my money (no idea what sort of protection it has at the minute, when it was ATOL protected with my holiday!). It really is appalling. They are kindly (ahem) allowing me a year to spend this money with them. Nevermind the fact that I had 24 months with the gift cards!

I had this with Champneys - and when I did point out to them that the gift cards had a 2 year validity and were a matter of months old - they did extend my use by date

Good luck sorting it out

Thank you.
Really I want a refund as they can't provide the service I paid for (and this was to be our last holiday, for personal reasons) but I'm really not too confident that will be happening now. At least if I have to I can use the gift cards much later (they were purchased this January so should expire in 2022)

Totally agree.

If I were due to pay a balance and could not talk, i would voluntarily breach my contract and withold payment.

If they then took contractural action against me, I would use the defence of ‘’impossible to communicate with you’’

If B & Q can open, why cant Virgin increase service levels?
