Opinions on adding meals when not on free offer
We are thinking of booking for 3 nights at the beginning of October half term. Free half board is not available- would you pay to add it, or just breakfast only.
If u did breakfast only would it still be at the hotel you’re booked into. Last time we went it was free and we were given vouchers for breakfast but I understand that if you are paying then it is at the hotel... which is what we would prefer. Thanks |

I personally would not pay for the meal plans as I find them quite restrictive and not that good value for money.
If you like a big breakfast then the breakfast only plan is ok, you will get a buffet breakfast in the hotel you're staying in. They no longer do the breakfast vouchers which is a good thing! |

Is there a breakfast only meal plan or is that included as standard when booking a hotel?

Both the free and the paid for breakfasts are in your hotel now.
We have paid for the meal plan in the past - we worked out where we wanted to eat, priced it up, and found that the meal plan would save us money, so we added it. Another time, we worked out that it was better value to pay OOP, so we didn’t add it on. It really does depend on where you want to eat, so the only way to check if it’s worth it is to price up where you want to eat. Then compare it to the cost of the meal plan (plus any extras eg top-ups for higher level restaurants, drinks, any meals you’d be paying for OOP at non-Disney restaurants) and see which is better value.

Thanks everyone. My DD and Grandkids want to eat at RFC one evening so we’ll look at options. The grandkids are 5 and 8 but good eaters so the buffets may well be a plan

Just wanted to make sure you know that Rainforest isn’t included on the meal plan.

Just a note that RFC is stupidly expensive. You wont get much change from 35 euros for a main and dessert. For this money I would prefer to go to a well themed restaurant or counter service in the park. Agrabah is an excellent themed buffet and hakuna matata have similar offerings in a nice counter service setting.

If you don’t want a big buffet breakfast every morning, it is probably not worth paying for the meal plan.
If you eat a big breakfast and then aren’t hungry till tea time, like us, it may be worth it. But it you want to do RFC it is not on the meal plan so I wouldn’t bother. There are other options for breakfast - Starbucks, Earl of Sandwich or my fave New York Style Sandwiches.
