I was thinking this too. When we have needed to wait for our table we are subsequently called out as “Jones*party” and I do not have an issue with this. If I were called “Jones*” whilst at my table I would have an issue.

I always give my full name. I tend to totally ignore them when they call my surname.
The last people who regularly used my surname were my teachers. I ignored them as well!

Yup exactly what happens with us. It’s seems totally reasonable. Same happened in restaurants all over Orlando as well.

I just feel sorry for the poor girl if it's the usual thing to call the surname and you rip into her and then walk out , maybe I'm just too soft .
