Moving house, city and new jobs!
Long story short, myself and my partner currently work for the same company and have done for years (different departments, design based).
We live in the countryside and aren’t very happy here, it’s far too quiet for us and away from friends and family but moved here to be nearer the job. The company we work for doesn’t seem to offer any future prospects and money isn’t good. We decided 2020 we would look elsewhere. My partner spotted a job in a completely different city 100 miles away where we have family and friends. She went for 2 interviews and they loved her and offered her the job. Management there asked to see my CV too after they all got chatting, and after 2 interviews they have also offered me a job! All sounds very exciting, jobs are fab and the money is much better. So, we now have to look for a house to rent! We view our first couple of houses on Tuesday afternoon. It’s all very overwhelming, in a good way. We basically have a month to completely change everything we know, talk about New Years resolutions working out! 🤩😅 Has anyone else ever done this or are we completely crazy?!

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for you both. If you don’t want to rush into a long term rental yet, would you be able to stay with family for the first few weeks while you check out suitable areas to rent etc? May be a little less of a rush that way.
Good luck with the move and I hope you are both happy in your new home and job |

Yep, and I’ve never regretted it 😊. I think between getting the idea, transferring job, and actually moving into our rented house 400 miles away, was all done in about 6 weeks.
Congratulations and enjoy this next stage of your lives. |

Being ex forces we did this approx every 18 months , I'm 62 now and have lived in 18 different houses since I was born. The one we are in now we've been in for 16 years, and boy have we accumulated at lot of junk. We've lived in Germany Holland and Spain as well so had a language barrier to deal with too.
Good luck. I kinda miss moving around |

Wow, what an experience 😊
Puts it into perspective a little bit, I’m sure we’ll be fine.
