Aer Lingus questions
We’re flying with Aer Lingus DUB-MCO and have a few questions for recent travellers. Firstly what were the menu options onboard? Could you buy supplementary snacks if the food options weren’t to your liking? I have a bit of a fussy eater but at 11 she doesn’t really want a child’s meal. Also, when we’re pre-booking our transfer with Mears how long should we allow from flight arrival time to pick up? And, how far in advance do we need to be at the airport on our return journey? Thanks in advance!

Hi! The meals aren't the best by any means I'm afraid. We have flown with them many times. They are great in every other way thou. My dd is also 11 and she wont eat the child or the adult one. We buy her a sandwich and crisps in the airport and have it in her back pack. You can buy chocolate and crisps on board. An option would be to purchase an upgraded meal. We have done this before and it was v nice. You do it thru their website. It costs about €20-€25.
As you clear here you walk off plane onto airport and make your way to baggage reclaim. Prob 15 min walk. However one year we were an hour waiting on our cases to come thru! Coming home you need to give yourself 3 hours at the airport. Security is a night.are in McCoy and can take a long time to get through. Hope that helps! Edited at 01:28 AM. |

No you have to buy the sandwich after you go thru. There are a couple of places you can choose from but you are right its v limited. We actually go into 51st and green. It's the first class lounge after preclearance. I know it sounds very posh but it is a lovely way to start the hols. We always found a meal in the airport to be overpriced rubbish. 51st is €30 in but your food and drinks are included. We go straight in once we are thru immigration so are there for 2 hours. You can see the pilots taxiing up the runway. Kids love it too. Always make sure dd has filled up to the brim!

The menu for business is on the web site.
I found the food very good, better than Virgins

Sorry to jump on the thread.
Do you have to prebook your food prior to flying? Or is it a case of them coming down the aisle and asking (beef, chicken or veg)? We have booked with BA but flying Aer Lingus GAT-DUB-MCO so not sure how it all works.

I don’t fly economy, yes, the business class food is very nice.
Might be worth searching YouTube for economy flights that will show you the food options

Only for kids or if you wish to "upgrade" your meal at a cost. Otherwise it's the norm of 2 options on board.
