American brand perfumes are usually cheaper over in the outlets or Malls such as Estée Lauder and Clinique but others no so much.

Depending on specifically what you want, the perfume shops at the premium outlets can be very cheap compared to over here. I like the Britney Spears perfumes for cheap daytime spritzing, and got 50ml bottles of all types for $10 each at the outlets, they were a fair bit more than that over here.
My favourite perfume is the Victor and Rolf, so I'll be on the lookout for that in duty free.

Compare your prices to this site before you buy. They've been cheaper than Duty Free and the perfume shops every time I check my perfume (Carolina Herrera 212) |

From my perusals of the duty free shop at the gate in MCO, it's really small, they only stock the really expensive brands and charge top prices for them! For instance, the Swarovski pen my SiL got me for under £5 in a UK outlet was a stonking $19.99 there! It's not much more than that in the shops over here!
Duty free going out is much cheaper - but you can still get better deals on line or in some of those perfume outlet shops (as long as you can be sure they're the genuine article and not cloned knock-offs).

Just make sure you double-check the price of your preferred perfume before you go - last time the one I wanted was actually a bit cheaper at my local Boots than at the airport.
Even in duty-free they might hike the price up to increase their profit margin, with all their customers assuming they have a bargain! |

I always buy perfume for my DD at the airport before we go as she always has a list and cannot be sure that I will get all brands in shops. I have always found the airport cheaper
