BA Twitter star - #TeamAngela

On Twitter using unpleasant language a certain @sharonodea has complained that a BA gate agent treat her like an immigration officer when delaying her at the gate for 5 minutes as she hadn't signed her passport. She went on to twitter to complain and got the following reply:-

"I'm sorry you felt embarassed at how my colleague dealt with you. However, there are times when we have to accept responsibility for our own actions. If you'd signed your passport when you have received it , this wouldn't have become an issue. Angela"

BA have retracted the tweet but it has produced an active discussion on Twitter and the majority are supporting #TeamAngela for her measured response.

I just got my new passport and it clearly states not valid u less signed on the paperwork 🤷🏻 So I agree take ownership would have been worse if they had it’s said not valid as not signed goodbye 😂😂

This happened to me last May. I got a new passport and stupidly didn’t sign it. My old one had the pre printed signature. (I know, no excuse)
Anyway, the boarding agent just handed me a pen and asked me to sign it.
Completely my fault, I’m with Angela on this one.

Ha ha just googled this and she complained she had 5 mins to practice her signature...has a grown woman not practiced her own signature enough by now... Angela has stated the obvious in a polite manner and no the customer isn't always right and should be told so. I am sure Klm will look forward to having her as a new customer... not

I have had to get passengers sign their passports at check in and at the boarding gates loads of times, take less than 30 seconds and not one has ever complained. We are not allowed to board them without a signed passport as the passport is not valid until signed.

Practice as signature?! Never heard such nonsense in my life.

Whenever you have to sign something, you just sign it. You don't buy a new car and sign the finance agreement but first say "Oh, can you fetch me some spare paper so I can practice my signature for 5 minutes first please?"
