Mobile Rescue dog

We are going to meet a rescue dog tomorrow. I'm hoping people can advise on any questions I should ask.
Ive thought of asking about any known history, medical conditions and what kind if diet it has. Anything else I should ask?
Also, what kind of insurance cover should I be looking at?

Thank you x

Noble thing to pick a rescue , ask how is the dog with kids, timid, aggressive, toilet trained, ok with commands, ok with other pets, needs lots of grooming. How much exercise does it need, neutered or spayed,.

Thank you for the suggestions. They have said the dogs are all spayed/neutered if she appropriate. They have also said fine with kids. I'll definitely check everything else you've suggested.

And, particularly if it has been brought in from overseas, has it had tick treatment.

A bit of a hobby horse for me I’m afraid. Since the EU dropped the requirement for animals entering UK had to prove they had been treated for ticks within the past 3 weeks the UK has seen a HUGE increase in the number of cases of tick related illness that can also be passed on to humans.

I hope that once we are out of the EU this requirement is reinstated.

I would ask what sort of rough routine they are in eg when they are fed, walked etc as a lot of dogs have a built in clock and can start pacing round about food/walk times.

Hope the visit goes well and you soon have a new family member.
