I can't remember the last time we had pay rises/bonuses where I work! Several years ago, all of us.

This really isn't something a bunch of strangers on the dibb should or even could accurately give advice about. It's a complex situation that we don't have all the info about.
Basically we have 4 lines of information, it's not reasonable to expect anyone to be able to give a good response to, as evidenced by the replies already. |

Can only offer general advice but you shouldn’t be discriminated against for being sick and your company should have clear policies about how they manage this. So for instance my organisation adjusts annual targets to take account of sick leave/other factors. Also where people have simpler output targets these are not expected to be in. You should probably ask your manager/HR department what the policy is to ensure those who require adjustments aren’t discriminated against and what they have done in your specific case. If your manager is saying you can’t possibly have a bonus vid you have been off sick then that is likely to be discriminatory. An HR adviser if you have such a thing should be your first port of call otherwise just ask your manager

It would help to know whether you are in a trade union and what line of work you are in. If in a trade union then seek advice from your rep. Situation really depends on what measures are in place to determine eligibility for a rise/ bonus. You should have objective measures. Could also be argued that if working to the same standard as others you should at least be offered a pro rata bonus based on the amount of the year you have worked. A pay rise should be standard dependent only.
