We spent 8 days driving the ring road a year past May. Absolutely loved it, beautiful country. I didn’t do a trippie but did a post about it and once I worked out how to add pictures, they are further down the thread. Would highly recommend, brilliant holiday.

I’ve been fascinated with Iceland since reading a Jules Verne book in my 20’s. I’d like to see the Northern lights too.

Fab pictures! We were there in May for The Husbands 50th birthday. It really is the most beautiful country and we had an amazing time. One of the best things was snorkelling between the Tectonic plates - it was just fabulous. Even our Teenager enjoyed the trip, so that was a massive plus 😉
Would definitely visit again but would like to see more of it than we did this time.

Yes we did - we flew Icelandair from Manchester and booked a mix of hotels and self catering cottages online.

It looks stunning , We are considering surprising dh next year with a trip to Iceland to try and catch the northern lights for his 50th . Would 2/3 nights visit be enough ? Any tips on who to book hoteis and car hire with as well . I just don’t know where to start or best place to try and see them . I think August/sept is the best time to go for them .
